Leftover Ingredients? Make a Detox Water!

If you've tried some of the other recipes on my site, like this tabbouleh, you'll see there are some common ingredients you'll always end up with or probably have lying around. Truth: I have never used an entire cucumber in a meal, and there's always half a lemon drying up in my fridge. That's why this detox water is perfect. It's easy and delicious.

What you’ll need:

  • 1/2 a cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 a lemon, sliced
  • handful of mint leaves
  • ginger, grated

Let everything meld together overnight, or at least four hours, for the flavors to seep. Change out the fruits and veggies after two days or you’ll notice a biting bitterness. I’m not a fan of drinking bland, boring water in the morning, but I love having a glass of this refreshing detox water to start my day. Is it really going to detox you? That depends on your diet. Water alone won’t cleanse you. But this is tasty enough to encourage you to stay on the road towards eight glasses a day!
