Caramel Apple Nachos in 5 Minutes

My favorite food? A freshly picked Macintosh apple. My favorite activity? Apple picking in the fall. Hence why I have bushels of apples in my house that I can’t possibly finish before they go bad. This is my version of recipe floating around the web – it’s quick and simple to make and a delicious use of all the apples you probably have hanging around this season.

Apple nachos covered in gooey caramel, decadent coconut flakes, chocolate chips, and crunchy pretzel pieces.

I used apples I picked from Sullivan Farm for this recipe.

  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1/2 bag of caramels (7 oz.)
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • handful of coconut flakes
  • handful of crushed pretzels
  • handful of chocolate chips

Substitute any of the toppings above with your favorite treats, like marshmallows, candy pieces, or peanut butter.

STEP 1: Slice the apples and arrange on a plate.

STEP 2: Pour 1 tablespoon of milk over the caramels and heat in the microwave for 1 minute and half, stirring about halfway through.

STEP 3: Pour the caramel over the apple slices, sprinkle coconut flakes, chocolate chips and pretzel flakes.

STEP 4: (optional) I like to heat in the microwave for 10 seconds because I love warm apples, but it tastes great crunchy and cool too. Enjoy!
