I don’t think anyone’s naming Nashua the “City of Love” anytime soon, but there are plenty of memorable and romantic ways to have a date night in Nashua! Here are 13 ideas for couples of any relationship stage or budget.
1. The couple that brews together, stays together
Spend a few hours together making a batch of beer, wine or old-fashioned soda. But unlike making something together at home, IncrediBREW does all the clean up for you! Come back in a few weeks to pick up your creation, and savor the date night all over again as you drink what you’ve made together.
2. An Indoor Adventure
Get out of your comfort zones and on a surf board, rock climbing wall, fishpipe water slide or even indoor skydiving tunnel at SkyVenture NH. It’s a date you won’t forget anytime soon.
3. Partner Up at Trivia Night
Impress your date with your encyclopedic mind at one of Nashua’s many trivia nights. Try Stump Trivia Tuesday nights at Peddler’s Daughter, Tavern Trivia Wednesdays at 8pm at Fody’s or Tilted Trivia at the Tilted Kilt Wednesdays at 7pm.
4. Thrift it Up with a “Goodwill Date”
Show off your eccentric side with a thrift store adventure. This couple’s goodwill date went viral and started a hashtag after they set a budget, picked out outfits for each other, and went out to dinner in their unusual styles. Sort through the clothes at Lucky Dog Thrift Store or The Grey Nuns Thrift Shop and up the ante by trying to dress as a certain decade! Or head to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore and pick up a beautiful piece of furniture that you can DIY together. A little sandpaper and paint and you can have a piece as unique as the two of you.
5. French Films and Wine
What language is more romantic than French? What price is better than free? From October through May the Nashua Public Library shows a French film with English subtitles on the second Monday of the month. Or, catch a flick in their “Cinema Cabaret” series Tuesdays at 7pm. After the film, take a short stroll to a downtown bar like Stella Blu to discuss the film over cocktails or wine.
6. Picnic at Greeley Park
There’s nothing more romantic than a simple picnic. Grab a cozy blanket, old-fashioned basket, some flowers, a Frisbee and your sweetest finger foods (wine, cheese and chocolate!) for a charming meal in Nashua’s beautiful park. Don’t forget to step inside the dreamy weeping willow near the front.
8. Bike Stroll
If one of you doesn’t have a bike, you can always rent one for just $35 a day at Goodale’s on Amherst St. Explore the Nashua River Trail, a 12.5 mile paved trail offering scenic views from Nashua to Ayers, MA.
9. Ice Skate
It’s a cliché for a reason – holding hands while you stumble around the ice is a charming date. Check out Conway Arena‘s calendar for public skate times. Ice skates are available for rent.
10. Volunteer Together
Spread the love by taking a day to do some good together. Help prep a meal or stock pantry shelves at Nashua Soup Kitchen, or take a look at various organizations’ “wish lists”, like this one for Marguerite’s Place or the Humane Society, and shop together/drop off some much-needed supplies.
11. Game Night
Challenge each other over board games and great food. Looking for a daytime coffee date? JajaBelle’s on Main Street has a stack of games available, or head to J. Bartlett Pub at Whole Foods for board games and beer.
12. Waltz into Each Other’s Arms
Dancing with the Stars makes it look so cool, so why not sign up for ballroom dance lessons at The Dancing Corner?
13. Sculpture/Mural Tour
The equivalent of a museum date, soak up some culture and see how your partner looks at the world by exploring the public sculptures created by the artists of the Nashua Sculpture Symposium with this map. Or stroll downtown and check out the beautiful murals gracing the brick exteriors of several buildings.
